The President of BAS awarded the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosovo with an Award of Distinction

For his contribution in the establishment of cooperation with scientists from Bulgaria Prof. Dr. Arsim Bajrami - Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosovo, was honored today with the Award of Distinction of the Chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov.

Acad. Vodenicharov pointed out that Bulgaria and Kosovo have a similar fate and scientists, who must continue to "open doors" and contribute to closen the ties of the two nations and their common future in the Balkans. Prof. Bajrami expressed desire for the young Academy of Sciences in Pristina to implement the fruitful Bulgarian experience in the management and practical work of scientists directions. The Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Kosovo accepted the proposal of the Chairman of BAS for the academies in Sofia and Pristina to start an active exchange of doctoral students in various fields.

Kososvo2 2The official ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo HE Shpend Kallaba, a Kosovar delegation, the entire leadership of BAS and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Prof. Kostadin Kostadinov.

Prof. Bajrami is a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Pristina. In 2012 he was elected as a corresponding member of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is Co-Chair of the Working Group for the establishment of the Constitutional Court of the country, founder and vice president of the Kosovo Democratic Party.
